Andrew founded Techlam in 1992 and is a self-confessed “jack of all trades”.  He maintains an active role in the business, working on upgrades and improvements to production systems and processes.  He takes a keen interest in developing the Techlam team, organising training and business initiatives for staff.

Joining Techlam in 2000, Brett has worked in every area of the business and has a comprehensive understanding of the engineered timber industry. His role covers a broad scope of Techlam’s day-to-day management, keeping the operation running smoothly. With the help of his team, Brett’s aim is always to exceed clients’ expectations and ensure Techlam is leading the laminated timber industry.

A qualified joiner, Roy began working at Techlam in Production, manufacturing laminated products for customers throughout NZ before starting as a Project Manager and Site Foreman in the contracting division. Now Techlam’s Sales and Project Manager, Roy has a thorough understanding of how the industry works from manufacturing, construction and clients’ perspectives.

Dave has many years of international logistics and manufacturing experience. Working throughout Europe, Asia, and America. He hopes to integrate this experience in the Techlam culture and environment and enhance the already impressive work carried out by our company. Dave has been attracted to Techlam for the technical expertise, cultural dynamics, and quality products they produce. “It’s a great, supportive and growing environment to work, run by good people all focussed on providing a top-quality product in the related field of engineered timber solutions. I have a lot to learn in this new arena, but also a lot to offer in driving the business, and the successful team, to attain its full potential.”

Arturo is a finance professional with over 15 years of international experience in the oil and gas industry, he specialises in managing financial operations and complex projects across multiple countries with a strong emphasis on governance, compliance and planning & analysis.

Jude started with Techlam in June 2018.  Prior to that she had been doing contract work (including work for Techlam).  Jude has been in administration roles for many years, and brings a wealth of experience with her.  Her role includes payroll, accounts and administrative duties.

Alistair has 20 years construction industry involvement with a focus on timely delivery of materials and services.

In his spare time Alistair enjoys the outdoors and new technologies, and consequently he is looking forward to supplying attractive, sustainable structural timber solutions to your project.

He aims to provide exceptional customer service and is excited to be Techlam’s representative in the South Island.

Shane has worked in the Construction & Building industry for many years, He brings a lot of experience to the team to help give our customers the solutions they are looking for.

Shane services our customers in the upper North Island, to keep them up to date with Techlam and create the best experience for them as well.

Hayden comes from a background in the glass and glazing industry as a trade qualified Glazier where he has developed a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative construction materials.

Hayden is a believer that buildings must perform well, but also look pleasing to the eye, which is why he is excited to bring Techlams products to customers across the Lower North Island.

Born and bred in the Waikato, he spends his spare time with family, working on DIY projects or biking some of the many cycle trails in the area.

Matthew joined the team to work alongside our Sales & Projects team to perform quantity take offs, from plans we get sent and then pricing them up to go out to our clients. Matt has been involved in the building material industry for 6 years, this experience comes into play working at Techlam and having knowledge of how building systems work.

After 35 years working in the construction industry , running his own painting contractor company, Dean changed pathways to Construction Management and Quantity Surveying.

He now has diplomas for these and has worked in several different roles gaining the experience he needs to ensure our planning and pricing work is accurate the first time.

Samyra works with the office and production team as our Project Coordinator. As someone who thrives on challenges, she is an awesome addition to make sure our projects run smoothly and elements are delivered on time and on spec.

Helena is the newly appointed Executive Assistant for the Techlam team based here in Levin.

Jodi Chappell, Techlam’s new Office Manager, brings over eight years of experience and a unique perspective to the role. Her family’s history in the building industry gives her a deep appreciation for Techlam’s work. She is committed to providing outstanding service and supporting the company’s mission.

Fiona, joined the team in 2019. In the role of Executive and Marketing Assistant, and has now moved into a Marketing only role. Dedicated to sharing our story online and showing who we are as a company.

Born and raised in France, Lola moved to New Zealand eight years ago. With a decade of experience in marketing and comms across the private and public sector and a passion for the primary industries and manufacturing sector, she is dedicated to sharing Techlam’s story, expertise and company values.

In October 2002 I was asked to write the first report on leaky building for an Auckland City Council full council meeting.

In the ensuing 20 years I have focused on companies doing the right thing as opposed to liability – they follow the law, they support their claims of performance with solid evidence, and practical information.

But compliance with building regulation is no longer enough.  A company needs to think about their footprint, how they treat people and the impact of their decisions.  Improvements can always be made without diminishing performance or profitability.

From my time working with Techlam I know that their values and mine align.  

Prior to joining the Techlam team, Fiona has worked as an IT Support Consultant for the last ten years. She has the experience and an attitude we love. Fiona is a hard worker and solves our IT issues quickly and effectively.

Redhunath joined in 2019 as BIM Technician after 15 years of service with  Engineering Consultants and Multi Scale Organizations in U.A.E, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait. He has good knowledge in MEP and Civil Design, Modelling, Project Coordination and Documentation .Managed Several Residential, Commercial and Industrial Projects. He has sufficient  knowledge in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navis work, MicroStation.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dorothy brings a global perspective to her role as a BIM/CAD Technician at Techlam. With a Diploma in Quantity Surveying and experience as both an Estimator and Detailer in the CLT and F&T industries, Dorothy has a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and materials. Her expertise makes her a valuable asset to the Techlam team.

Mirco brings to the team a wealth of knowledge and experience.

So far in his career, he has worked with Cadworks for over 17 years, had 9 years on site as a carpenter, has a degree in timber engineering. Mirco has worked in many parts of Europe and New Zealand with roles ranging from drafting to site management. After moving to New Zealand, Mirco has been a draftsmen and engineering detailer, and joined our team to create 3d working models and shop drawings for our glulam projects.

Jamie has joined the office team after many years out on the factory floor. He has worked in almost every department, and has been at Techlam for over 25 years.

Jamie now works in the office doing Sales Support, Customer Care and Logistics. He has a passion for timber and is a great asset to our team. He had a lot of input into the original Techlam logo and design when we first started out!

Prior to joining the Techlam team, Dave has 14 years in the timber sector in structural timber production, logistics, compliance and  sales.

Before this he was involved in process manufacturing within the chemical sector. He brings a fresh set of eyes to compliance and quality control and aims to add value in the training space, equipping and empowering staff to achieve great outcomes for our customers.

Nathan has been working with Techlam since the very start, doing engineering and maintenance work for out plant & equipment. He has many years of experience in engineering & joined our team officially in 2019 as a full-time employee. Nathan takes care of our day to day engineering and maintenance to keep our machinery running smoothly.

With a Military and Meat Processing background, understanding and implementing processes and procedures is Dion’s strength; with a focus on trend analysis and RCA when challenges arise.

Jason is the Team Leader in our Detailing & Prefabrication area. He makes sure our products go out with 100% accuracy and fit together on site.

Jason has lots of experience working with Timber and is extremely skilled in this area.
