A business built on family values

Andrew founded Techlam in 1992 and is a self-confessed “jack of all trades”.  He maintains an active role in the business, working on upgrades and improvements to production systems and processes.  He takes a keen interest in developing the Techlam team, organising training and business initiatives for staff.

“My aim is to provide a happy, safe and healthy work environment where people and business prosper.”

Brett’s role covers a broad scope of Techlam’s day to day management to keep the operation running smoothly, including overseeing Sales and Marketing, Finance, Operations and HR functions.  With the help of his team, Brett’s aim is to always exceed clients’ expectations and ensure Techlam is leading the laminated timber industry.

A qualified joiner, Roy began working at Techlam in Production, manufacturing laminated products for customers throughout NZ before starting as a Project Manager and Site Foreman in the contracting division. Now Techlam’s Sales and Project Manager, Roy has a thorough understanding of how the industry works from manufacturing, construction and clients’ perspectives.

“I am committed to providing a high level of customer service and attention to detail, while supplying high quality Techlam engineered wood products to the NZ construction industry.”

Jude started with Techlam in June 2018.  Prior to that she had been doing contract work (including work for Techlam).  Jude has been in administration roles for many years, and brings a wealth of experience with her.  Her role includes payroll, accounts and administrative duties.

Luke joined the team in 2014 as a plant hand and then moved into a sales support role before moving into Account Manager position looking after our key accounts in the South Island to complement this sales position Luke successfully completed a certificate in level 4 Sales.

By spending this time as a plant hand and sales support role it has given Luke good knowledge and understanding of how each process works from when the customer phones in to how the product is manufactured and despatched to our customers.

It’s great to see there is an increasing demand for glue laminated throughout the country making Techlam an amazing place to work as the company continues each day to grow and develop.”

Dianne is very new to Techlam and has joined us on 2^nd of November 2020.  Prior to Joining Techlam Dianne worked for the Ministry of Education as an Executive Officer running the day to day management of the Finance office and answering customer inquiries.  Dianne has gained her NZ Diploma in Accounting and NZ Diploma in Business and has many years experience in customer service, she enjoys building a lasting rapport with every customer.

Skye joined the team in 2020 to assist with general admin tasks and help the sales team wherever needed. Skye is enthusiastic and always ready to learn, a valued member of our team. Skye’s area of expertise is dealing with our customers to ensure their requests are met quickly.

Fiona, joins the team in 2019. In the role of Executive and Marketing Assistant, Fiona works with the Management Team, to make their lives a little easier. Time is the best teacher, and I’m excited to learn how Techlam works, and become part of the awesome culture.

Before joining Techlam, Jose was involved in commercial, residential and educational projects in Kuwait and India. He holds a Diploma in Architectural & Structural Drafting and Plumbing Technology, with experience in architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and HVAC. He is also an Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit and AutoCAD.

“I am dedicated to deliver high quality models, drawings as well as visualisation experiences for our customers, consultants and contractors to make their life easier. We can often confuse people with complicated words where we can direct them to understand with simple models. I prefer to use these methods to create understanding.”

Redhunath joined in 2019 as BIM Technician after 15 years of service with  Engineering Consultants and Multi Scale Organizations in U.A.E, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait. He has good knowledge in MEP and Civil Design, Modelling, Project Coordination and Documentation .Managed Several Residential, Commercial and Industrial Projects. He has sufficient  knowledge in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navis work, MicroStation.

Karl’s role is to work closely with the team to manage NetSuite system and functionality. He will also be the part of the on-site IT to provide support and contact with Offsite IT services.

“My main goal is not only to provide support and services, but also to reach the potential competences of our company in this innovative time. This will show better efficiency and effectiveness of our work as a team.”

Nathan has been with Techlam for 15 years. His primary role is to ensure the successful co-ordination of activities relating to production, efficiencies and distribution of Techlam products and he is also responsible for ensuring the plant and staff comply with Environmental and Health and Safety objectives and policies.

“I am passionate about ‘continuous improvement’ to lift standards of performance and quality control and enjoy researching and designing new machinery to reach this goal.”

Greg joins the Techlam Team after being in General Engineering Management for 27 years. Ready and keen to bolster the Lean Journey that Techlam is on to become Australasia’s leading manufacturer of engineered timber products. Bringing with him an effective understanding of Continuous Improvement, utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principles together with problem solving tools.

“Safety First. I believe that it is everyones right to leave work in the same condition that they arrived in. As soon as you see a mistake and don’t fix it, it becomes your mistake.”

Steve’s daily challenge is to keep the flow of information moving through the plant, assisting Greg and Nathan. Included in his role is also Health and Safety, which he is very passionate about. Steve’s goal is to get the best out of everyone in the Techlam team, and get them home safe to their families each day.

Prior to joining the Techlam team, Dave has 14 years in the timber sector in structural timber production, logistics, compliance and  sales.

Before this he was involved in process manufacturing within the chemical sector. He brings a fresh set of eyes to compliance and quality control and aims to add value in the training space, equipping and empowering staff to achieve great outcomes for our customers.

Nathan has been working with Techlam since the very start, doing engineering and maintenance work for out plant & equipment. He has many years of experience in engineering & joined our team officially in 2019 as a full-time employee. Nathan takes care of our day to day engineering and maintenance to keep our machinery running smoothly.

With a Military and Meat Processing background, understanding and implementing processes and procedures is Dion’s strength; with a focus on trend analysis and RCA when challenges arise.

Leigh has a background in the timber industry, His extensive knowledge about timber helps us to deliver on our promises. As a Team Leader in our finishing area, he ensures all our products go out the door at a high quality and on time.

Mark has been on the team for many years, he has a background in the building industry and many qualifications to show for it.

Mark leads the team on the machines, making sure they are running smoothly and up to speed to manufacture our products to premium quality.

Jason is the Team Leader in our Detailing & Prefabrication area. He makes sure our products go out with 100% accuracy and fit together on site.

Jason has lots of experience working with Timber and is extremely skilled in this area.
