Braided Rivers, Cathedral Square, Christchurch NZ

Techlam NZ are immensely proud to be supplying the Glulam to the Braided Rivers project, Cathedral Square, Christchurch NZ. This iconic structure is designed by Shigeru Ban Architects to reflect Canterbury’s river plains flowing close to the centre of Christchurch.
Thirty eight column units are formed by grouping nine different types of two-dimensional curved glulam in various combinations. This is architecture in its truest form, simple but highly effective.
