Fiji's Finest

Our challenge
Techlam were selected to supply components for the redevelopment of Plantation Island Resort Arrivals Complex. Stage 1, the new Arrivals Bure, Restaurant and Bar, was where engineered timber needed to feature strongly to create a relaxing feel for the guests arriving. The design for this was inspired by a traditional Fijian Village, with a light and rustic feel.

The Techlam solution
Techlam supplied the prefabricated components for the buildings, imitating the traditional Fijian design brief. The poles and roof components were also pre-coated to save time on-site. Techlam worked on this project from very early on to assist with the best timber solutions for the structures and the end result is awesome. This project was a finalist for Commercial Design in the 2020 NZ Wood Resene Timber Design Awards.
