The Techlam team was at the CONZTRUCT trade event at the Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch on Monday, 6th October, to catch up with all the local builders and tradies.

It was great to meet so many industry professionals face-to-face and talk about engineered timber solutions. While we were there, we decided to set a little challenge…

We challenged teams to a speed test – assemble a Techlam pre-engineered truss as fast as they could. The clock was ticking, and the prize was a cool portable COBB® Gas Grill – perfect for everything from early brekkies on the building site to weekend family adventures! The competition was strong, with teams showing some excellent building skills.

After an evening of fast-paced assembly, we can announce the winners.

A big congratulations goes to the Brewer Builders Ltd team led by Peter, who set the winning time at 3 minutes and 36 seconds!

Well done to the winning team (the BB team) and a huge thank you to everyone who visited our stand and took part in the truss assembly challenge. We really enjoyed the conversations and the chance to show what’s possible with our glulam and pre-engineered timber products.
